Exclamation uLaunchELF More Trouble
Help! I have a chubby PS2. I'm sure that my PS2 is capable of playing backup discs. Then using alcohol 120% I burnt the uLaunchELF iso from "http://www.iplayplaystation.com/ps2-saves-homebrew-tutorial/" to a CD-RW.

It didn't work. "PLEASE INSERT PS FORMAT OR PS2 FORMAT DISK". Is there any problem with re-writable media?

Then I re-burnt it to a DVD-R. Why it's still "PLEASE INSERT PS FORMAT OR PS2 FORMAT DISK"? Any suggestions please? Thx in advance! ^^

What does that have to do with the PS2 being able to boot the uLE CD/DVD-R or not?

RE: uLaunchELF More Trouble
Try using a few different brands of CD-R. And burn them SLOWLY.

I burnt about 4 CD-Rs before I made one that my PS2 would boot from.

This post is old, but make sure you have a CDR. Afterwards, burn them slowly mostly on 4x on imgburn. Use your Swapmagic and swap in your uLaunchELF.

RE: uLaunchELF More Trouble
I thought I'd bump the thread because I'm not getting any luck with uLaunchElf either.

My setup:

Machine: fat PS2
Model: SCPH-30004
Modchip: Matrix Infinity (I think. It plays backups no problem)

I dl'd uLaunchELF v4.40 CD .iso and burnt it straight to CD. My PC is running Ubuntu 9.10 and I used k3b to burn the CD, at 4x on several different types of discs including Verbatim 52x CDR. Thereafter I tried to load it in my PS2 but it goes directly to the PS2 browser screen where you see the 2 mem cards and the CD. It recognises the disc as a PS2 disc.

I don't want to build a .elf compilation - I just want to be able to backup my save games.

Thanks in advance
